Beavertail State Park
Map via Waze. Our trusty app!
Welcome back to the oceanfront ! Beavertail is breathtaking from beginning to end. Please note: We have indicated this has a two sneaker length walk. Although, this can be ANY length you desire. It can even go up to a 4 sneaker length if you so choose ! You make this day whatever you want to make it ! There is soooooo much to see and do ! Please plan to be there for a long while ! Also, concerning the terrain, we have marked it as a two shoelace terrain, but again, it can range from 1 up to 3 shoelace depending on the trails to suit your needs. Our day started at lot 1 Blue Dot trail access. Nearby is a Red Dot trail access. Both are similar in length and terrain and finish at the same oceanic landscape. This is so MUCH more than just a walk. There is a museum open to the public. An aquarium also open to the public and on schedule days, there are guided tours inside the lighthouse. You may want to pack a picnic lunch ! Parking is so plentiful, there are a total of four individual lots complete with their own walking paths. How cool is that ? This is a day of learning and exploration ! Ready, set… GO !!
Handicap parking is available at the lighthouse/museum/aquarium.
Easy access to the museum !
At the aquarium, Cameron will be your guide. He is incredibly knowledgeable of the surrounding sea life. He has many captivating and hilarious stories of the creatures living in the aquarium. Please pick his brain ! You won’t regret it ! Tell him Spencer and Elaine sent ya !
So if you have any energy left, while you are here, please explore a little more of Jamestown. There is so much here to offer. We found an amazing deli and sat by the waterfront, enjoying the comings and goings of all the boats. It is a day we will not soon forget !
