Killingly, Connecticut
Map via Google Maps
Welcome to Connecticut ! This is one of our spur of the moment adventures, no great planning done here, just get in the car and go. We found ourselves in Killingly, located in the northeast corner of Connecticut, bordering Rhode Island. They call this Windham County. It has the flavor of old New England at its best. Its history of mill villages are producers of cotton fabric. In the 20th century, Killingly was known as the Curtain Capitol of the World ! Our day began at the local library, where we found valuable information and very welcoming and helpful Killingly residents. Parking is plentiful and easy to find and everything is handicap accessible. Shall we discover this old time district together ? Let’s hop to it !
Back into the car ! Our curiosity had to continue on. We were searching for the Quinebaug Lake. Through winding country roads, we found it ! Here’s a peak of that adventure !
Needless to say, this was much more than anticipated. Clearly filled the day from beginning to end with all new adventures of our neighboring Connecticut ! We have been encouraged to explore more in the future ! Who knows where it will be next ? See you all next week ! Happy trails, partner !
